Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a condition where cysts will form on the ovaries whenever an egg is released. Presently, PCOS has no cure, and if it goes untreated, the symptoms can be debilitating. Fortunately, if it is detected early, and if the patient goes on a regular exercise program and maintains a healthy diet, the symptoms become less severe.
One major complication of PCOS would be the weight gain. When women develop polycystic ovarian syndrome, they often gain five or more pounds unexpectedly. This extra weight is also very challenging to lose.
