You Can’t Eat Sushi While Pregnant
Sushi has been a common villain that most women learn about while they are pregnant. Everyone knows that you should not consume raw fish because of concerns about worms and other parasites; however, we are here to tell you that there is actually a bit of a workaround when it comes to consuming this delicious food while you are expecting.
Research has shown that it is actually usually safe to eat sushi and other dishes that contain raw fish, such as sashimi. While it isn’t suggested that you eat it frequently as that raises the chances of harming your unborn child, there is no reason why you cannot eat a roll or two once a week. However, it is important to note that not all different types of fish will be the same amount of safe.
If you want to ensure that you don’t get sick while you eat sushi, then you should skip fishes such as the following:
Mackerel
Shark
Tilefish
Swordfish
Tuna
This isn’t because they are more likely to have worms or other issues, but due to the fact that they have a larger buildup of mercury in their system. This can be dangerous for your developing fetus and yourself. Otherwise, you can treat yourself to sushi occasionally without any worries!
