Breast Cancer
Both men and women can develop cancer of the breast tissue, but it is more common in females. Breast cancer becomes more prevalent the older you get, which is why it is important to start getting routine mammograms once you turn 45 years old. Between the ages of 45 to 55, you should get an annual mammogram. After 55 years old, the frequency can be dropped to every two years.
If detected early, breast cancer is easily treatable. However, more widespread cancer can still be life-threatening and difficult to cure. Don’t wait to get a diagnosis and demand a second opinion if you feel the diagnosis is wrong.
