Coconut Sugar
Coconut is an incredibly versatile fruit, along with making things like milk, water and oils from the nut, sugar substitutes can also be obtained from the tree. In fact, this sugar, produced from the coconut palm, is super flavorful. The sap can be heated to reduce the sugar into solid granules that can be used several ways.
The biggest benefit of using coconut sugar in place of refined sugar are the high vitamin content and the low fructose levels. Using coconut sugar will boost your vitamin C and potassium content without boosting your blood sugars.
