Unrefined, Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
Unrefined, cold pressed oconut oil is another household item that has been found to help burns heal. The main reason for this is the fact that coconut oil contains essential fatty acids as well as vitamin E- both of which promote the healing of healthy skin. In addition, coconut oil has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that help to clean the wound decrease the risk of infection. Simply massage a small amount of the coconut oil (making sure it is unrefined, and cold pressed- so never heat treated and has not lost important nutrients) onto the skin several times throughout the day to keep it hydrated.
