Hunger
Excessive hunger, or increased appetite is one of the three main signs of diabetes. Diabetes can cause high blood sugar and high blood sugar gives you the munchies. It is high blood sugar that makes you hungry. If your blood sugar is high, the last thing you need is more sugar in the form of food. Insulin moves the sugar into the cells. If insulin is low, sugar cannot get access to cells. A message is sent to the brain for more sugar in the form of food. This message continues to be sent while you are eating.
