Next up is dental problems. Sadly, many Americans cannot afford dental care and this is especially a problem for those with diabetes since they are at an increased risk of experiencing dental issues, like gum disease. Therefore, if you experience dental problems like gums that hurt, bleed, or are swollen see your dentist (or doctor if you do not have one).
Fortunately, usually these issues go away once blood sugar levels are maintained properly. Regardless, remember that it is always important to brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash regularly.
