3. Randy Jackson — Type 2
Randy Jackson, who is best known as the honest judge on American Idol (Okay, maybe not as honest as his colleague Simon Cowell) and his catchphrases like “It’s a no from me dawg”
You might not know that Jackson has been dealing with diabetes for years now, developing Type 2 later in his life. One of the many factors included was sudden weight gain, which can lead to the development of Type II diabetes.
His diabetes diagnosis kick started him into focusing more on making healthier lifestyle choices like exercising more and making healthier choices when it comes to food. Although considered a drastic measure by some, Jackson decided that the best choice for him was to undergo gastric bypass, which lead to drastic weight loss. Being that his journey has been quite publicized, Jackson took this opportunity to help others with diabetes by being open about his own struggles, giving those with diabetes or unhealthy eating habits someone to relate to.
