Redness
You can also experience a slight discoloration on the affected area. This is a common initial sign of a clot or thrombus forming deep inside a vein. The skin discoloration is caused by blood collecting under the skin’s surface. As the blood collection increases, it becomes visible from above.
Persistent red patches on the skin, especially on the legs shouldn’t be ignored especially if they appear after surgery or injury. Visit a doctor immediately when you notice this symptom. The primary symptom of deep vein thrombosis is skin redness which doesn’t go away with time. The redness can also intensify for no apparent reason.
