Signs You May Have a Blood Clot in Your Leg

Swelling

Painful swelling can occur at the location or site of the clot particularly the leg. The swelling can affect the ankle, calf area or any other part of the leg where the clot occurs. These areas have dense bones and tissues making it difficult for the body to clear the clot naturally when it is forming.

Blood clot-related swelling doesn’t respond to typical medication or remedies like application of cold or hot compresses. This is a notable telltale sign of a blood clot-related swelling. You should also be concerned if the swelling occurs without any external injury on the affected area. Swelling can also intensify for no apparent reason.
