Antibiotic Ointment
Chances are you have some sort of antibiotic ointment in a drawer somewhere. Many of these ointments help with burns as it can help to prevent infection and speed up healing. Simply apply the ointment to the area of the skin and cover with a sterile cloth, making sure not to use one with lint that can get stuck in the wound. When shopping for antibiotic ointment, look for those with the following ingredients: mafenide acetate, silver sulfadiazine, and silver nitrate solution.
