Do Not Reach For Ice
Although it seems like a great idea, and can help cool down the area, it is never a good idea to put ice on an area of the skin with a burn. Ice causes a restricted blood flow to the skin, which can cause tissue damage by limiting the amount of blood and oxygen that can get to that area. However, as mentioned above, cold water is okay and can actually help to lessen inflammation.
