Bald Toes
If the hair on your toes suddenly vanishes it could be a sign of poor blood circulation, which can be caused by peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Common symptoms of PAD include decreased hair growth on the feet, thin or shiny skin and purplish toes.
Pulmonary arterial disease is caused by a buildup of plaque in the leg arteries and affects approximately 8 million Americans. Doctors diagnose PAD using an X-ray. Symptoms of PAD are subtle, but have grave implications as in most cases hardening of the arteries is not limited to the legs, and affects the arteries in your heart.
