Create an illness-day plan
If you were not aware, common conditions such as diarrhea, flu and even colds might raise your blood sugar. On the other hand, diabetes often makes it difficult to ward off infections. As a result, you should get prepared. Keep snacks which are easy for your system, but can still provide sufficient carbs and fluids. Check your blood glucose regularly when falling sick. Moreover, get to know when to check for ketones and when to contact your physician. Finally, never fail to get a flu vaccine annually.
