Skip The Flights
There has been a common fear that you should not climb aboard a plane while you are expecting even if it is in the first trimester or it’s only an hour flight. This myth was more commonly accepted when flying was less accessible but as time has gone on it has become clear that there aren’t any dangers associated with flying while growing a child. Although, there is a greater chance that you will become nauseous that is more a personal preference instead of an across the board rule.
It is important to note that there are some airlines who won’t let you get on a plane if you are in your last trimester; however, that is more about plane policy. There are some airlines who are worried that they may be forced to land if you go into labor or that you may damage the upholstery on the seats or the carpet.
If you are wanting to fly while expecting you should double-check the airline’s policies regarding the last trimester before you book your flight.
