Set a Pace
Many inexperienced runners (and even some experienced ones) set a pace that is too ambitious from the start, and end up hitting a wall before they reach their destination. It’s important to pace yourself, and be forgiving if you go too fast too soon. It takes time to get to know your body’s limits and your fitness level.
If you’re new to running, consider starting with a slow jog or fast walk until you’re confident to run at a faster pace.
Take your health into consideration. If you are fighting a cold, or getting over an injury then start with a slower pace than you’re used to so that you don’t end up exacerbating any current or recent health issues.
