Check Social Media
Next up on our list is checking Facebook, Instagram or any other social media. Doing so does not give your brain enough time to really wake up before overwhelming it. According to doctor of naturopathy, Clinical Nutritionist and Chiropractic Neurologist Dr. David Friedman, it is important to “remember, you are coming out of a relaxed sleep and when you immediately bombard your brain with too much stimulus, your body can become stressed. His suggestion is to “ignore your phone until you’re on your way out the door, when you’ve showered, dressed, eaten breakfast and your mind is more alert.” Instead of reaching for your phone, try to read a few pages of a book or do some mindfulness exercises.
