Thyroid Issues
It’s not unlikely that people can develop autoimmune thyroid diseases when they have lupus. The thyroid is mainly responsible for controlling hormones that affect all metabolic processes, and the lack of hormone production leads to hypothyroidism. Some of the symptoms include sudden weight gain, moodiness, dry hair and skin, and concentration problems. On the other hand, an excess abundance of thyroid activity leads to hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism symptoms include increased anxiety, diarrhea and sudden weight loss, among others.
