Animals
Do you remember hearing about a man that got MRSA on his face after he let his dog lick him? Sure, animals do clean themselves, but that does not mean they are not carrying all kinds of viruses and bacteria on their fur or in their mouths. Yet, most pet owners will kiss and rub their pets while cooking meals or share their eating utensils or food…despite it being rather unsanitary.
Always wash your hands after handling animals—whichever kind. Be more careful if you have interacted with an animal that is not yours, because you don’t know what your furry companion has gotten into while you weren’t looking.
