Unexplained Weight Loss
You could also have kidney cancer if you lose weight suddenly. Although sudden weight loss can be a byproduct of loss of appetite, kidney cancer causes you to lose weight suddenly without making drastic changes to your diet. Kidney cancer causes unexplained weight loss by consuming most of the body’s energy as the cancer cells grow. This makes you lose weight without putting any effort. The unexplained weight loss is also linked to substances released by cancer cells that alter the way the body burns calories. The substances also tend to impair healthy digestion and absorption. The weight loss usually progresses to cachexia or muscle wasting.
