Whole Grain Bread
Whole grain bread is a healthier choice than white bread, even without considering the benefit it offers in relieving and preventing constipation. Whole grain products contain fiber which helps in preventing constipation, whereas white bread is a common cause of a blocked colon.
Whole grain bread is a complex carb source that provides a sense of fullness instead of being converted to sugar quickly. For most whole-grain products, you’ll see the words “whole grain” or “whole” before the name of the grain in the ingredient list. The whole grain should be the first ingredient listed.
