Fruit
Fruit is a good choice to prevent and relieve constipation. Juicy ones such as plums, apples, and pears, should be eaten with the skin because the skin is good source of pectin. These fruits, as well as oranges and bananas, contain around 3 to 4 grams of fiber each. Fruit is an excellent and convenient snack, and can also be added to baked goods or smoothies.
Pineapples and Peaches are also excellent choices. A cup of unsweetened pineapple juice contains approximately half a gram of fiber, which can help with digestive system blockages. Additionally, pineapple contains natural plant enzymes such as bromelain that can help promote regularity and a healthy digestive tract.
