Keep Your Hands Warm

If you are trapped in a glacial office with the A/C turned down too low or live in a cold climate, your skin may be dry because of that cold temperature. When your skin is not nourished by blood flow and is met with cold, dry air, it will start to lose moisture rapidly. That is why your hands feel worse in the winter.

Prevent that by keeping your hands warm. When blood is flowing, skin cells can regenerate much faster and will support the connective tissues. Also, when you are warm, your skin will retain heat and moisture more easily. You don’t have to wear gloves all the time, either. You can simply learn some reflexology for your fingers or do some stretches or shake your hands once in a while. Squeezing a stress ball will help, as well.

In the event that you are living in a very dry climate, you may want to consider using a humidifier in your room or office. That will help restore some moisture to the air you are breathing in. Your skin should improve as well.
