Turmeric
Also known in some places as curcumin, turmeric is that gorgeous golden powder that gives curry its characteristic color. Furthermore, turmeric has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda for thousands of years. Among the breadth of benefits, turmeric is thought to contain anti-inflammatory compounds and numerous antioxidants that boost brain power, memory, ease symptoms of depression, and even help you grow more brain cells.
The active ingredient, curcumin, actually crosses the blood-brain barrier to help with memory functions. It is particularly effective against amyloid plaques that may lead to Alzheimer’s.
