Use Instagram With Intentionality
Save social media for when you consciously decide you want to go online and engage in social media activity. Never let yourself just mindlessly float back to scrolling, for this is where the most negative effects on your mood occur. This can create frustration and depression. Instead, if you are feeling idly drawn to social media, just find something else to do.
Look at what needs to be clean, watch a movie with your family, hang out with your friend or partner, work on a project, take your dogs for a walk, or play with the cat.
