Zinc
Zinc is what is known as an essential trace mineral that helps to promote eye health; however, it is often overlooked. Taking zinc supplements can actually slow down macular degeneration after it starts when taken in conjunction with beta-carotene, copper, vitamin C, and vitamin E. In order to get enough zinc from diet alone it is essential to eat foods high in this mineral such as meat (including grass-fed beef, lamb, and chicken), fish and oysters, yogurt, cashews, chickpeas, mushrooms, and spinach.
