Common Signs Of Gallbladder Problems

Light Colored Urine

If you notice irregular stool color alongside changes in urine color, you may have gallbladder issues. This sign can also be accompanied by changes in stool consistency and weight (i.e., diarrhea and light-weight stool). Bile contains waste materials from the liver which are responsible for giving urine the “signature” yellowish color. Urine which is very white contains minimal amounts of bile waste which can signify a blockage of the bile ducts by gallstones among other underlying health problems like liver disease.

When gallstones interfere with the flow of bile, critical digestive processes can’t be done effectively like the processing and absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. This causes urine to have a milky or cloudy-looking appearance. This color change is common among people with urinary tract infections. Besides having a light color, the urine also tends to have a foul smell. You should visit a doctor when you notice any urine changes.

Although dehydration and eating certain types of foods can cause urine color changes, you should be on the lookout for prolonged color changes that last for days to weeks.
