Pause Hiccups
Hiccups are usually harmless and temporary, but sometimes they can go on for far too long and even cause indigestion or stomach pain. If you are one of those people who can never quash hiccups by holding your breath, here is another option for you to try.
Mix a teaspoon of plain sugar with some apple cider vinegar. Just a few drops should do the trick. The grainy texture of sugar mixed with the sour flavor of the vinegar will trigger the nerves responsible for hiccuping, turning them off.
If you constantly struggling with hiccups, you may want to discuss the possibility of more serious issues, like a hiatal hernia or GERD, with a medical professional.
