Beneficial Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar

Kill Harmful Bacteria

There are two ways you can benefit from the antibacterial and anti-fungal properties of ACV. First, you can boost your immune system. Much of the immune system is comprised of lymphoid tissue. Acetic acid, which is present in ACV, can pass through this tissue and kill pathogenic strains like E. coli and other viruses before any damage is done.

Second, as you may know, many fruits and vegetables in the produce section are coated in waxes and other chemicals to prevent pests and rot and to increase the appeal. You can use apple cider vinegar to wash that gross coating away. Apple cider vinegar is far more effective than just running the produce under the water. While it is not clear how effective vinegar is at removing pesticides, it will rid the fruit or vegetables of wax and bacteria.

You can use apple cider vinegar to kill bacteria found on other objects, too. For example, you can rinse dentures and toothbrushes in vinegar to keep them fresher and keep bacteria from proliferating. Moon cups, countertops, children’s and pet’s toys, sponges, and cloth diapers can all be washed with apple cider vinegar.
