Go For a Daily Walk
Walking has been proven by science to increase your creativity and invigorate your brain and senses. People who go for walks in nature, especially, are much happier. There’s even a Japanese philosophy called “forest bathing,” where people spend time in nature to cleanse themselves of city life. Of course, walking 10,000 steps a day is also where good health begins.
But the daily walk should be more than putting steps on your pedometer. The daily walk should be a quiet moment in your life that gives you a break from the norm. You should be able to unchain yourself from the desk for at least 30 minutes a day (even breaking that up into three 10-minute sections) to breathe some fresh air and do some introverted thinking.
Simply take in everything you see, even as you ruminate over things. Or, silence those thoughts all together and just enjoy whatever comes you way.
