Skin Rashes
The appearance of skin rashes is usually indicative of a lupus condition. Around 50 percent of lupus patients exhibit butterfly-shaped rashes on their cheeks, or on the bridge of their noses. The skin rash normally occurs after a prolonged exposure to sunlight or after the effects of a flare-up. Individuals diagnosed with lupus may see other skin rashes such as lesions appearing on their feet, back, stomach, neck, legs or arms. The lesions themselves are not itchy and the rashes cannot be passed on by contact, but it presents some aesthetic issues and could prove to be an embarrassing condition.
