Frequent Infections
Yet another sign of lung cancer is the experience of frequent infections, especially those that effect the airways such as pneumonia or bronchitis. The reason for this is due to the body’s attempt to fight against the cancer, which means a lowered immune system and inability to fight off other infections. The easiest way to a diagnosis is an x-ray of the lungs. Unfortunately, having to deal with frequent infections is the reality for the majority of individuals with cancer, regardless of type. However, this is especially true for those with lung cancer. Luckily, many of these infections can be treated with the use of antibiotics.
