Tips for a Safe and Healthy Halloween

Examine The Spoils Carefully

For kids, no moment of Halloween is better than that moment where they spill out the contents of their bucket or treat bag to admire the mounds of goodies they acquired. Of course, this is also the time for parents to make sure all that glitters is gold and not something dangerous. Be sure to examine all the treats and items your child has gotten very carefully.

Food items are often tampered with during Halloween, more often than you probably want to think about. You can potentially find objects placed into food that are sharp or inedible. Look at wrappers for punctures. Examine fruit for any holes or bruises. Toss out any baked goods or items with broken seals. Only accept homemade items from people that you personally know and trust.
