Bag the Body
When you find on your body, remove and bag it. This is important for the identification process. Resist the urge to throw away the tick after removing it. Instead, place it inside a plastic bag. It is also recommendable to take a picture of the tick against a white background. This makes it easier for a physician to identify the tick’s species which is important for recommending proper treatment. Don’t forget to record where you visited and submit the information to your physician and TickEncounter.org for proper identification.
