Ticks And Lyme Disease – What You Need To Know

Know What You are Looking For

Ticks are tiny, so it’s important to know what you are looking for. A tick can resemble a tiny blood blister or a piece of dirt measuring 1-5 mm in length initially but bigger with time. You should also look out for tiny legs. A tick could also resemble a dark spot. Deer ticks look white when fully engorged.

Tick bites have a distinct rash which resembles a target (a red spot with a red ring surrounding it). Some people living with Lyme disease don’t get the rash; however, it is common and easy to spot if you have Lyme disease.
