Stay Calm, Be Swift

According to Dr. Thomas Mather, a Director at the University of Rhode Island TickEncounter Resource Center, it is advisable to stay calm and act swiftly when you find a tick on your body. Delaying to remove the tick increases your chances of getting Lyme disease if the tick is infected.
A tick need at least a day to transmit Lyme disease-causing bacteria to your body so, remain calm and get rid of any tick you find on your body immediately to lower infection risks.
