    Respect

    One thing that should be at the core of the relationship is respect for one another and your personal goals. You should never have to beg for your partner’s respect or ask them to acknowledge your future aspirations. If anyone humiliates you, insults you, berates you, or abused you in any way, they do not deserve a second chance. Someone who truly loves and respects you will never make you feel as if you have to prove your worth, because you should be priceless to them.

    Any sign of cruelty should signal an immediate end to the relationship. Remember, this kind of behavior could be emotional abuse, and that could potentially transpire into domestic violence.
