Prescription Pills And Medications
There are prescription pills which block the enzyme responsible for converting DHT (dihydrotestosterone) from testosterone. The pills such as Finasteride block DHT formation, a male sex hormone known to cause male pattern baldness. DHT is known to cause premature hair loss among men who have inherited the baldness gene. The hormone works by shrinking hair follicles to certain levels which limits their growth past a certain length. Over 90% of men taking Finasteride manage to slow down their hair loss as well as re-grow some lost hair. Combining minoxidil and Finasteride can offer better results. However, you must still follow your treatment plan religiously and allow enough time for the medication to work (several months in some cases).
