The Causes of Anemia

Bone Marrow Deficiency

Aplastic anemia is when the bone marrow does not make enough RBCs. If you have lymphoma and the disease spreads into the bones and marrow, it will affect blood cell production. Within bone marrow, you will find stem cells.

Those stem cells are responsible for producing RBCs, the cells that transport oxygen throughout the body so it can function. When you lack bone marrow, you eventually develop anemia, because the body cannot make enough red blood cells to power itself.
