What to do if you have a sleep disorder
Now that you know a little bit about the most common sleep disorders, if you have reason to believe that you are suffering from one of them, it is important to speak with your doctor about the symptoms that you are experiencing.
Although it might seem uncomfortable sleeping in a room while being watched by doctors in lab coats, often the only surefire way to diagnose any of the sleep disorders we discussed here (and others) is to attend a sleep study, like the one we mentioned above. Most cities have a sleep clinic with sleep specialists but the majority of these specialized clinics require that you first speak with your doctor and get a referral from them. Sometimes a good night’s sleep is just what the doctor ordered.
