How Diabetes Insipidus Occurs
As mentioned above, diabetes insipidus is the result of the body being unable to properly regulate its fluids properly. In individuals who do not have this condition, any excess fluid is excreted from the bloodstream by the kidneys where it is temporarily stored in the bladder. In these individuals, when the body is dehydrated, for instance due to excessive sweating, the kidneys conserve fluid and less urine is made as a result.
