Folliculitis
When hair follicles become inflamed it is referred to as folliculitis. Folliculitis does not only appear on the head but also on other parts of the body that can be covered in hair such as the legs and arms. Symptoms of folliculitis include red, swollen spots with a hair in the middle. If these spots become infected, pus can develop and enter the body, and spread infection.
