Drinking Fluids
Although it might seem that the last thing you want to do when you have a sore throat is drink or eat, keeping hydrated can help relieve sore throat symptoms. It can also make sure that you do not become dehydrated.
Fluids can help to restore the moisture in your body and keep you alert, which is helpful since our heads tend to get foggy when we are not feeling our best. Drinking fluids can also help in the reduction of secretions and can aid in soothing a throat that is dry and scratchy. The best fluids to help reduce throat irritation are water (especially in the form of tea), soup, or something with electrolytes such as a sports drink.
