Pale Skin
Many people are naturally pale. New pallor, however, can be a sign of anemia or other diseases. Red blood cells give your skin its natural pink undertones. When your blood does not have as many red blood cells as it should due to a deficiency of iron or other nutrients, your skin will begin to lose this pink tinge. Instead of appearing flushed, you will seem pale.
In people with light skin tones, this is very noticeable. In people with dark skin, a subtle loss of red blood cells can be less obvious. However, you can still see paleness on the inside of their eyelids, the inside of their lips, or even in their gums. Some people will even have a blue tinge on their fingernails.
