Twitching
Do you often experience eye twitches? You might be stressed. Don’t worry, this is a normal reaction and is rather common. Stress will cause eyelid spasms that are not painful but are certainly distracting and annoying at times. These eyelid twitches can happen for any length of time—from minutes to months.
Doctors have not yet figured out why this happens or what the connection is, but that doesn’t mean there is no way to counteract the twitching. Whenever the spasms occur, try to close your eyes and relax. Breathe deeply. Soften the muscles of your face. Try to inhale, hold the breath for several seconds, and then exhale as slowly as you can. Do this kind of breathing for a few minutes. You can also add mild pressure to the eyelid that is twitching.
If that does not help, you can also use OTC artificial tears to help lubricate the eye. However, if the twitching is not just around the eyes but spreading to other regions of the face, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
