Back Pain
Similar to tense muscles, back pain is another common symptom of stress. Back pain is also linked to a sedentary lifestyle, too. Furthermore, the muscles of the back will tighten naturally whenever the body enters fight-or-flight mode. As blood pressure and heart rate rise, the muscles strain. This is excellent if you are trying to avoid danger, such as running way from some predator or trying to avoid getting struck, but if this is solely based on stress, it can leave you feeling worse for wear.
The best way to remedy back pain from stress is exercise, such as a walk in the park, yoga, dancing, or any other activity that will let you release those muscles. Remember to take enough breaks at work from a sedentary desk job to ease stiff muscles, as well.
