Tense Muscles
So far, there has been multiple mentions of how stress can make you feel stressed, and it is true. Tight muscles are usually caused by exercise, sleeping oddly, or injury, but stress can cause muscles to become more taut and inflexible. Stress can also lead to injuries, like stress fractures.
Stress will also cause muscle spasms, such as the ones that happen around the eyes. The spasms, however, can be intense and severely painful. The tension is the result of stiffening or holding onto tension when you don’t realize it. For example, some people might slouch in their seat while typing and squeeze their shoulders together when anxious or nervous. This can cause tension to build.
