Bleeding Gums
Most of the time, your bleeding gums are the result of improper flossing technique. Other times, it happens because you are stressed. A Brazilian study reviewed previous analyses and found a pattern: people who experience high stress for long periods of time are more at risk of getting periodontal disease. This happens because bacteria is able to invade the gums more easily, thanks to the impaired immune response.
So, how do you shield your teeth and gums from the negative impact of stress? The best defense is keeping a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss with you at all times. If you are the kind of person who snacks at their desk then doesn’t rinse out their mouth, now is time to start. You can also exercise and sleep more to reduce stress. Also, avoid eating sugary foods during the periods where you cannot brush your teeth or rinse out your mouth.
