Loss of Appetite

Liver damage can result in a loss of appetite and the inability to keep food down, which can lead to weight loss. At this point the liver damage is considered to be severe and is possibly life-threatening.
If this is the case, an intravenous fluids or a feeding tube might be used in order to allow for the administration of nutrients into the body. Unfortunately, if the liver damage is at this point, the damage is likely irreparable and a transplant might be necessary.
