Urine Changes
Another symptom of liver damage is urine that is a dark yellow colour. This occurs when bilirubin, mentioned above, is not successfully excreted by the kidneys. Other symptoms of high levels of bilirubin include reflexes and eye movements that cannot be controlled. More serious ones include seizures and neurological impairments. If you notice that your urine is dark in colour, it might not be liver damage that is to blame.
Other causes include dehydration, gallstones, bile duct infections and enzyme deficiencies. What we consume can also have an influence on the colour of our urine. If you do, however, notice that your urine is dark and this is a case over a long period of time you should speak to your doctor, especially if it also smells unusually peculiar.
